Nerf Gunfight!

The kids had a great nerf gunfight Sunday night.  Here's Brittany posing after the shooting is over.

Click here to see a video of it!  I can't get video to publish here for some reason...  If it asks for user and password, use "guest" and "scrappy".

Easter Egg Hunt

The kids had fun looking for eggs.  There's always one missing at the end!  We did find it, though.
Kiersten is hiding her eyes so she doesn't see her basket before the rest of the kids come in!

Coloring Easter Eggs

It's our tradition to color eggs the night before Easter so the Easter bunny can hide them for us in the morning.  Here's the kids doing their thing.  Brittany was at work, but she came home and did her three eggs later.

Peas are Planted!

Finally, the peas are in the ground.  Yay!

Kiersten took this lovely photo of me laying out the peas for her to poke into the dirt.

She took this one of her pokes
!
Here she is poking them all down in the dirt!

Jared did some major digging so we could have mounded rows.  We probably did 'em a little too high, but oh well.

Finished and getting a little water on 'em.

I was talking to the kids later saying we got the peas planted, and I said, "please planted".  Jared said, "Yeah, and they're going to grow up to be thank-yous!"

Tanner's Birthday Party

Tanner had a birthday party today at Laser Quest, a laser tag place in Salt Lake.  After their first game, they sang happy birthday and covered Tanner in toilet paper, which they had hung on a paint roller and attached to a low-power leaf blower.  How fun is that!

Potty Chairs and Minions

Kiersten and I were driving into Home Depot today and passed all the handicapped parking spots with all their little blue signs.  She said to me, "What are all the potty chairs for, Mom?"

Then later when we got home, I asked her to clear the kitchen table so I could get our lunch on, and she informed me, "I'm not your minion!"

Weekend News

I took the three youngest kids to Logan to see Grandma and Grandpa on Friday night.  Grandpa, Jared and I went skiing up at Beaver Mountain on Saturday.  It was a gorgeous day and we had a great time.  Grandpa bought some gloves and the tag said that the fabric on the thumbs was especially soft, just for nose-wiping!  You'll have to ask him if he used that feature!  Grandpa hasn't been skiing for about 25 years, but he looked like he's been doing it forever and gave me some tips on my form.  I may get the hang of this yet.  He took pictures of me but I don't have them yet.  Here's the ones I took.

Jared and Grandpa.  Jared's board was too heavy and his feet were not at the right angle, so we had them give him a new board and fix the angle, and he did much better after that.

This doesn't do it justice, but Grandpa did a great job skiing!

Jared really liked the blue run we did; the green ones were just too flat!

Kiersten and Tanner hung out with Grandma.  Grandma took Kiersten to a primary activity and Kiersten just ran off and did the activity with the other kids.  Tanner stayed home with the gameboy.  After we got home from skiing, Kiersten played with the magnetics.

We had a great roast, mashed potatoes and corn for dinner.  Then we came back home.  It was a fun trip!  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Right Now

It's been a nice, slow week.  I just live for those days where there is nothing written on the calendar!  I have about one or two a month.
Brittany is heading for CA tonight for a choir tour trip.  We will get photos posted when she gets home.  She is excited about going to our old stomping grounds.  They're doing Disneyland, Universal Studios, Wicked at the Pantages, the actual choir festival, a concert at a stake center in Placentia, etc.

Jared finally caught up on all his late work from when he was out of school sick for a whole week! He is happy to be ungrounded, I think!

Tanner is finishing up his Learning Technics program.  He has passed off all the charts and is down to the last few exercises.  I have seen improvement in his ability to finish tasks and follow through with homework. He is understanding the value of setting a small goal and the satisfaction of accomplishing it.

Kiersten is busy, busy!  She came home with scraped knees the other day from falling on the playground while wearing a skirt.  She thinks maybe it's a better idea to just wear skirts to church and not school.
