Kiersten's Swimming Lessons

Kiersten had swimming lessons at the Yinglings for two weeks. She learned to dive and was able to swim in the deep end. She can do the backstroke, too!

Kiersten's Water Party

Kiersten wanted to have a water party after school got out. She made invitations and took them to her friends and we did water balloons and turned the sprinkler on the slide. The kids brought water guns and they had a good time.

Tanner's Black Eye

I took Tanner for a walk trying to get him ready for trek. We were going to walk 4 miles. Kiersten wanted to come, too, so I took my cell phone, thinking that when she got tired, Brittany could come and get her. Well, we got as far as the church (2 blocks) and I was walking a little ahead of Tanner to keep him going. I heard him fall behind me, and I looked around and he was face down on the asphalt.  He had been carrying a stick, and he tripped and didn't catch himself with his hands. He face-planted and he was all bloody and screaming. He banged up his face and his knee. We called Brittany to come and get us, iced it, etc. We called the pediatrician down the street when his nose started to swell, but he didn't have a broken nose. He did throw up once, but the doctor said that once was okay, and if he did it again we should take him to the doctor.

This is Tanner the first day; he likes to say he was fine on the one side, it was the other one that was bad. He wanted a mask like Phantom of the Opera.

And this is the rest of it the first day.

This is the second day, after the swelling on his forehead turned into a black eye.
